George Wang was born in Shandong province, China. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Qingdao Medical College in 1985. In 1993, he came to the United States and in 1999 received his Ph.D in Microbiology and Master of Computer Science from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr Wang is currently a software engineer in a private university. He has been for many years an avid collector of Chinese antique porcelains, Yixing Zisha teapots and Chinese works of arts. Dr Chuck Jia has been his antique mentor and is instrumental in helping him excel in this difficult and mesmerizing field. The primary technique in identifying and authenticating Chinese antiques is still through naked eye and micro imaging, with the help of aging fingerprinting, pattern finding, materials, etc.
